More info:
In “Table Topics”, the speaker has the challenge of giving a 1 to 2 minute improvised speech on a topic that they find out right there and then. It’s a great way to practice quick thinking and learn how to deliver a speech on the fly. Normally at a Toastmasters meeting the table topics speakers are given verbal and written feedback / evaluation by an audience member. However, in a Toastmasters contest situation, contestants are judged rather than evaluated, and the winner will go on to compete at the next level (such as the Area contest which is another elimination round between nearby clubs).

Thanks for watching!
Cheers,
Geoff
