Photo rotation problems in Android Lollipop 5.0 – how to fix

The issue is that the Google provided Photo Gallery software (integrated into Google Plus) in Android 5.0 Lollipop does not allow rotation of photos from the gallery listing page. Instead you have to do a complicated sequence of steps to edit the photo, rotate it within the editor, save the photo, and then delete the original photo. Much too complicated for this very common operation.

I strongly suggest getting the QuickPic app linked above as a replacement or alternative if you need to rotate photos often.

In this vlog I also discuss the new Android 5.0 Lollipop feature to display your notifications on the lock screen and why I tried this feature but ended up disabling it (showing the notifications on the lock screen interfered with my flow of accomplishing tasks with my smartphone).
