This large Japanese supermarket has a wide selection of fresh items including takeout sushi that is already prepared and ready to eat. The sushi tasted really good and fresh, and the store is fun to browse for all the interesting Japanese products, as well as high quality seafood, vegetables and meats.

if you don’t mind walking for 5 to 10 minutes, you can get here by Canada Line Skytrain (which starts from downtown Vancouver), and then walk one (big) block north from Lansdowne Station.

-takeout sushi (discounted after 6:30pm)

It’s a laugh-out-loud comedy with hilarious characters and a fun story. Directed by Jonathan Lynn. Starring Joe Pesci, Marisa Tomei, Ralph Macchio, and several other great actors.

Technical notes on the lighting used in this video:
-a 200W incandescent bulb was bounced off an umbrella camera right.
-a 60W incandescent bulb was directed downwards towards my head and shoulders from behind me and to the left of camera.

Camera used:
Canon EOS T2i with Sigma 30mm F1.4 lens.
24 fps 1080p, F2.5, shutter 1/50, ISO 800
Ektachrome Picture Style (from cinema5d.com)
Magic lantern firmware

Microphone:
-Sony ECM-MS907 Stereo Condenser microphone, on mic stand, plugged directly into camera with Magic Lantern’s Automatic Gain Control off (AGC off), and using full 32db analog gain and 18db digital gain.

Titles added in Windows Live Movie Maker on a computer with Windows Vista. (I do have Final Cut Pro on my mac but I prefer WLMM for short videos like this. I filmed, processed, and uploaded this video in 1.5 hours from start to finish).

Digital Media’s effect on combining the traditional creative roles and professions – by geoffmobile

Geoff from geoffmobile.com – a video blog.

Discussed in this video:
-With the end result of most creative work these days being digital information, whether it’s video, photography, artwork files, or digital music recordings, maybe we can start eliminating the traditional “categories” of media creation such as the roles of musician, videographer, photographer, artist, etc, and allow creative people to move fluidly between mediums depending on what best suits the work they are creating. This is a major shift in our thinking about the once very separate roles of different types of media expression.

I also do a humorous aside on my new glasses (they never ever require cleaning, do not reflect light or glare, and are very light to wear) – I tell you about my secret glasses experiment and how it is going!

I was inspired to do this blog (vlog?) after listening to Damian Kulash interviewed in the following video:

Thanks from dropping by,

This restaurant is great, they are open to midnight , I think (every day!). but please call them in advance if you are planning to go there late at night, to confirm they will be open.

Also we noticed there is a good diverse mix of locals always frequenting the restaurant including both Chinese / Asian families as well as Caucasian and other ethnicities.
