All a Buzz about Business (Speech by Geoff Peters to Vancouver Toastmasters Club 59)

Geoff from geoffmobile.com gives “Project 1” in the Entertaining Speaker toastmasters manual called “The Entertaining Speech”. The objective of this speech is for the speaker to entertain the audience in a five to seven minute talk by relating a personal experience.

Presented to Vancouver Toastmasters Club 59: www.tmclub59.com
July 30th 2012 in Vancouver BC Canada

Geoff’s speech is called “All A Buzz About Business” or, “What I learned in Business School”. My goal is to entertain the audience by relating a personal experience about business school, through a speech which has a definite opening, body, and conclusion which is brief, sudden and definite. I am going to attempt to create vivid and simple descriptions, anecdotes, and stories that have a twist. My speech may have the role-play that I am speaking to a group of fellow business colleagues or entrepreneurs. What I am going to try to do is have natural feeling and expressive body language without hand clasping, and make little use of notes. I am also going to try making good use of the stage and vocal variety.

Thank you to Steve C. for filming me!

Thanks to Deborah L. for being my evaluator, and for all the inspiring support from everyone in Vancouver Toastmasters Club 59. www.tmclub59.com

Cheers,
Geoff

P.s. the closing music is an original electronic music song created by myself, Geoff Peters. I edited this video using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 on a Windows 7 Dell PC (Intel i7 and USB 3.0 for a faster workflow).

Value of being a parent – expensive to raise a child in Canada – impromptu speech by Geoff Peters

Geoff from geoffmobile.com gives an impromptu “table topics” Toastmasters speech about the value of being a parent given the high cost of raising a child in a country such as Canada.

Geoff was given the topic of this speech just 20 seconds before he had to come up and give the speech. It was improvised on the spot!

This video was recorded at Best Run Toastmasters club in Vancouver BC Canada on July 26th 2012.
