Rangoli Restaurant in Vancouver – amazing Indian food (low light video)

Super yum!!

Vij’s Rangoli Restaurant in Vancouver
www.vijsrangoli.ca/
1488 West 11th Avenue
Vancouver, BC, Canada

Spectacular Indian food with excellent flavors.

Note about Chai: For someone who is not used to having caffeine like me, I don’t recommend drinking Chai for dinner if you would like to sleep that night :), and especially think twice about drinking a second cup when offered, no matter how delicious! The Chai at Rangoli was so delicious that I couldn’t resist. :) However if you are used to drinking caffeinated drinks such as coffee, tea, or soft drinks, you should be fine with a cup of Chai for sure :)

Filmed on Google Nexus 5 using lgcamera app. Very low light so the quality of the video is quite noisy. :)

Lauren Elbe
Founder – Nuez Milk

Here is Lauren’s bio, courtesy of foodtalks.ca

Lauren Elbe is a personal trainer and the creator of the Nuez Beverage Co. a Vancouver based brand that makes organic, fresh made, preservative free almond and hazelnut milks. After her first bite of a European tomato, Lauren began to question why conventional grocery store food was so lacklustre. Lauren has studied holistic nutrition and has become passionate about local food and what “good” food means for flavour, our health, our communities and the environment. “I dream of a world where food can just be food. Where I don’t need to analyze the ingredients list of a product to try to decipher if there are ingredients that aren’t going to serve me, a world where food is made in kitchens and not laboratories.”

Food Talks is an evening of expert speakers from the Vancouver Food community.

Model demoed: Yamaha Digital Piano P-35B

Technical notes:
This demo was recorded from Yamaha P35 using stereo input into a Roland Octa-Capture in 24 bit 48khz. The audio signal was normalized using Sonar X1 LE. No other effects or processing were done in post. The reverb in the recording is the optional reverb setting that is controllable from the piano itself.

For greater dynamic range and expressiveness in this recording, the P-35 piano’s “Touch Sensitivity” feature was set to C3 – “Touch Sensitivity Hard” – please see page 10 of the P-35 Owner’s Manual to change this setting. I find this setting allows me to express myself with the piano better, similar to my old Yamaha P90 Stage Piano that I used for many years.

Description from Yamaha:
YAMAHA P35 88-key Graded Hammer-action Stage Piano With Speakers

Piano sound
AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) sampling uses digital technology to record an instrument’s sound. It then applies a high-quality digital filter to the recorded audio samples. AWM Stereo Sampling creates a deeper, richer and more spacious sound by using pairs of waveforms (L and R) captured with two microphones.

Graded Hammer Keyboard
Just as on a traditional acoustic piano, the keys of the lower notes have a heavier touch while the higher ones are more responsive to lighter playing. The keyboard’s sensitivity can even be adjusted to match your playing style. This Graded Hammer technology allows this lightweight instrument to provide an authentic touch.

Compact, light weight
Like other P-series digital pianos, the P-35 has a slim, contemporary and compact design.
This allows for both easier storage and portability in a wide range of applications.

Easy to use interface
P-35’s interface is really simple. The “Grand Piano” button is easy to find on the front panel and instantly returns the P-35 to the best acoustic piano Voice.
