The Ironman triathlon – what’s the best thing about it?

Transcript:
Hello. Ok so the question is, what is the best thing about the Ironman Triathlon? Ok. Well first of all, I’ll tell you what the Ironman is. It’s a 4 kilometre swim, a 180 kilometre bike ride, and a 42 kilometre run. Wow. It is considered one of the most extreme sports you can do in one day. Wow. What I like about it is that it is a triathlon, and that you are combining those sports which are very healthy to do in combination. What I like about it is you don’t have to do Ironman to be happy or healthy, and that as a triathlete you can go into short distance ones, and middle distance ones, and children can go in them. I think just about every adult has run, ridden a bike, and done some swimming. And if you combine those sports on a regular basis, you can have a very happy and healthy life. So that’s how I started, and then I found that I enjoy the long distance a great deal, and so that’s how I got into Ironman and that’s why I love it. Wow. Thank you very much. You’re welcome. That’s the next edition of Geoff Mobile. Ok have a good day.

Geoff Peters: Why do you enjoy interviewing people?

Transcript:
Hello. Hello. My question for you is, why do you enjoy interviewing people? Well, I enjoy interviewing people because the interviews that I’m doing, it’s going to be going up on Geoff Mobile which is the new mobile video blogging, and it allows me to basically find some interesting stories about the community or an interesting social issue, or the arts, or any topic of interest to people in Vancouver, and have it posted online in a way that anyone can access by going to Geoffmobile.com, and I think this is a really cool thing that with a hundred dollar cell phone and a ten dollar data plan, I can now become like a little reporter, so to speak, doing my own interviews and creating my own news content. So that’s kind of why, thanks. Wow, thank you very much. What do you think is the best strategy for getting people to give the best content in an interview? Well I just started doing this project and I’ve only done maybe three interviews, so I don’t really quite know exactly, but you know, maybe making the person feel comfortable and not putting too much pressure on them to put them in a tough question. Just letting them talk about something they enjoy or like maybe is a good idea. Great! Thank you very much. You’re welcome. Have a good day. Thanks, you too.

Climate change vs global warming, what’s the difference?

Transcript:
Hello. So the question is, what’s the difference between global warming and climate change? Are they the same thing? They’re related, and people used to think of it as global warming because the average temperature of the earth is actually warming and will continue to warm, but it’s as you’ve read in the news, Great Britain is experiencing extreme cold weather right now, so it’s more extremes of weather that come with climate change, rather than just a gradual imperceptible warming. So the main effect of the excess carbon dioxide in the air from our industrial processes and our modern life is climate change, not just a gradual warming. Warming’s part of it, but it’s the change in extremes that people experience. So some areas are getting colder, some areas are getting warmer. That’s right, yeah. Ok, thank you. Very good. That’s the next edition of Geoff Mobile.

Urban rats

Transcript:
Ok so the question is, what do you think about urban rats? Like rats in houses, rats outside on the street, that kind of rat. Hahaha. Well, do you like them, or you don’t like them? You said that when you are biking, you like them, but… well because they’re on my way, say hello to me, and I say hello to them. It … for both of us, and you know, I’m happy to see them, right. But you don’t like the rats in the house. A rat in the house or a mouse in the house, you know, this is my territory. If you have an invitation that’s perfectly fine, but you know if there is no invitation, it doesn’t even knock on the door, no it doesn’t knock on the door, and it doesn’t respect the hours when I sleep… yeah, eats your plants… eats my begonia. That’s you know, inconsiderate. Yeah. So we should say, rats should be more considerate. Yes. Ok thank you very much, that’s the next edition – for all rats out there be considerate – ok that’s the next edition of Geoff Mobile. Thank you very much. Hope you enjoy your Korean food there.
