OrganicLives in Vancouver – raw vegan restaurant and food store

I visited OrganicLives (photos, map, web site, 1829 Quebec Street, Vancouver, BC, Canada, phone: 778-588-7777), a gourmet restaurant and food ingredients store with organic raw vegan food.

Open every day from 9am to 9pm, OrganicLives is located really close to the Olympic Village near downtown Vancouver, and is a great alternative to the McDonalds down the street for Olympic visitors looking for healthy, sustainable, delicious food.

What’s it like being Raw Vegan in Vancouver?

Visit Marcus’s website about raw veganism at Eat Raw Vegan. Marcus blogged about this interview here.

Transcript:
How’s it going? Ah so, what is it like being a raw vegan in Vancouver? It’s terrific. Especially over the past year, the raw food community in Vancouver has really started growing and expanding and there’s a lot of interest. We have a few really neat eating spots. We have Gorilla Food downtown on Richards Street and then we have Organic Lives on Quebec street, and then there’s also Eternal Abundance in the Truffles Cafe on Commercial drive, and there’s a few other places where you can get some raw food. We also have a very active meetup group, so there’s usually a raw potluck multiple times a month. Everything is positive and more and more people every single week seem to be interested in this – so it’s really good and I’m glad I stumbled on this way of living, it’s really revolutionized my life. Great! And you can go to Marcus’s website eatrawvegan.com for more information, and that’s the next edition of GeoffMobile. Thanks very much.

Hon’s Chinese restaurant on Robson in downtown Vancouver

Transcript:
So we’re at the Hon’s Restaurant on Robson Street, downtown Vancouver, and we just enjoyed a wonderful meal of potstickers and Chinese food. They have a kitchen back there, and it’s cafeteria style, and our bill came to a total of $41.29 for four people, very reasonable. That’s including tax but you still wanna add a 15% tip – you can use my tip calculator program called Geotip for that. Ok. Alright so here we are, come to Hon’s on Robson Street for the best priced cheapest Chinese food in downtown Vancouver. So these are the potstickers, and they’re nicely fried dumplings with vegetable filling or beef, and they’re pretty good, so they’re pretty cheap too.

The Ironman triathlon – what’s the best thing about it?

Transcript:
Hello. Ok so the question is, what is the best thing about the Ironman Triathlon? Ok. Well first of all, I’ll tell you what the Ironman is. It’s a 4 kilometre swim, a 180 kilometre bike ride, and a 42 kilometre run. Wow. It is considered one of the most extreme sports you can do in one day. Wow. What I like about it is that it is a triathlon, and that you are combining those sports which are very healthy to do in combination. What I like about it is you don’t have to do Ironman to be happy or healthy, and that as a triathlete you can go into short distance ones, and middle distance ones, and children can go in them. I think just about every adult has run, ridden a bike, and done some swimming. And if you combine those sports on a regular basis, you can have a very happy and healthy life. So that’s how I started, and then I found that I enjoy the long distance a great deal, and so that’s how I got into Ironman and that’s why I love it. Wow. Thank you very much. You’re welcome. That’s the next edition of Geoff Mobile. Ok have a good day.
